I feel like that sums up why a lot of people think the 4th wall breaking was too extra.

So the writers purposely write a-let’s say-less than satisfactory ending so Jen can then break the 4th wall and point out how less than satisfactory the ending is thus giving the audience a validating experience but alas still not a satisfactory one (in my opinion)
