Slightly off from this, but not enough people talk about how excited casuals in the general public get about seeing good colorful costumes on screen. We take it for granted and look at it from a more cynical lens cause we’ve been into this stuff our whole lives, but seeing Spider-Man’s actual costume brought to life in a convincing way, or Iron Man’s armor had to really blow niggas minds who weren’t fans their whole lives

Think back to how we felt when we first saw the characters in comics and cartoons? That’s how regular niggas felt when they saw the first trailers for The Avengers. There’s just a sense of wonder those costumes give the characters that is only amplified in live action

Like yeah you’re right those costumes would’ve looked silly as hell in live action but I bet Hawkeye would be more of a household name if he wore them
