All the big name actors probably turned down Doom I'm guessing.
ya i think marvel roles just aren't as attractive to lots of actors as they were a few years ago. i bet the checks are still nice but
I'm 90% sure they're trolling. Gotta be. Cause ain't no way
Had to call you in cause
Just catching up and reading y'all reactions to this RDJ as Doom announcement has been very entertaining.

Damn I gotta find the page
Ok I feel like you're just being obtuse at this point. I'm saying that the Joker or Batman don't need to be explained to viewers. Your average viewer gets their deal already cause they've had multiple portrayals on screen already. Doctor Doom hasn't. He's a recognizable villain but your average person doesn't know his background or motivations. Making him a Tony Stark variant fits with the multiverse saga that's been built up and it makes the viewers care. Again, they want Thanos level hype. This is how they get it in 2 years
Bro the general public do not be going to these movies thinking bout background and motivations.
Do you think everybody that went to see Infinity War and Endgame knew 100% who Thanos was or how his motivations in the movies differ from the ones in the comics?
Or do you think they just went cuz Avengers as a brand is recognizable and is a safe bet for a blockbuster?

well see usually u get a characters background and motivation by watching the movie
Look at that retro future 60s
See this is the good stuff. Need that footage immediately
cast another actor then, s***s just gonna confuse ppl
It's a multiverse movie culminating as the conclusion of like 5 multiverse films and a tv show we've gotten now. We just got Chris Evans portraying human Torch again in Deadpool and Wolverine. How would they be confused
They built him up for a long time via post credits scenes and dialogue/foreshadowing in the movies constantly.
But is that needed for Doom? I thought he was already more popular than Thanos. Plus they can do some quick foreshadowing in the new F4
cant wait to watch all the people walk through the circles again 🤤
and then theyre gonna fight 🤤
thank you mr iger 🤤
“ to build emotional attachment to doom it needed to be rdj”
What you are describing is nostalgia
The best super hero movies the villain was not deeply explained man yall lying to yourselves with this cope
Every one-off villain they've done recently hasn't given the impression of any real stakes. This will give that impression. If you can't see that then you're blind.

That’s called bad writing

People understand villains within one movie
X men 1 was a great movie man stop
That’s what I’m saying. I don’t think Doom needs 4-5 movies of 2 second foreshadowing to build hype

You'll say anything to defend you not agreeing w this decision which I get. I feel you. I respect your opinion

bringing back the only main character to meaningfully die as a different character from an alternate reality is real stakes?
The way No Way Home flipped One More Day is how Secret Wars is about to flip the alternate universe Tony Stark concept everyone been fienin for
Spoiler in case it’s true
IT AINT GON BE TONY STARK. IN EVERY UNIVERSE THERES AN EGOTISTICAL SUPER TECH ARMORED GENIUS WITH THE POWER TO DETROY THE WORLD OR SAVE IT. THERES A UNIVERSE WHERE THIS GUY IS TONY STARK, A UNIVERSE WHERE HES SOMEONE IMPORTANT IN OUR WORLD LIKE STEVE JOBS OR SHAKESPEARE, AND A UNIVERSE WHERE…HES NONE OTHER THAN VICTOR VON DOOM. DESPITE BEING VASTLY DIFFERENT ON THE SURFACE IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE WAY, THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME FACE
THAT FACE IS PLAYED BY RDJ. AND I THINK ITS GONNA BE POINTED OUT BY A CHARACTER IN A JAW DROPPING REVEAL MOMENT. THEY GON DO SOME WATCHMEN/OPPENHEIMER INTERCUTTING WTF HOLY S\*\*\* TYPE BEAT AND I BET ITS NOLAN INSPIRED THATS WHY THEY GOT RDJ AS WELL
But is that needed for Doom? I thought he was already more popular than Thanos. Plus they can do some quick foreshadowing in the new F4
Bro everybody that went to see the Infinity War movies was not some hardcore fan who watched post credits scenes and s*** lmaooo
A lot of the general public went cuz of brand recognition and following a trend lol
