burymeineckoOk I feel like you're just being obtuse at this point. I'm saying that the Joker or Batman don't need to be explained to viewers. Your average viewer gets their deal already cause they've had multiple portrayals on screen already. Doctor Doom hasn't. He's a recognizable villain but your average person doesn't know his background or motivations. Making him a Tony Stark variant fits with the multiverse saga that's been built up and it makes the viewers care. Again, they want Thanos level hype. This is how they get it in 2 years
Bro the general public do not be going to these movies thinking bout background and motivations.
Do you think everybody that went to see Infinity War and Endgame knew 100% who Thanos was or how his motivations in the movies differ from the ones in the comics?
Or do you think they just went cuz Avengers as a brand is recognizable and is a safe bet for a blockbuster?

jameson32499They built him up for a long time via post credits scenes and dialogue/foreshadowing in the movies constantly.
But is that needed for Doom? I thought he was already more popular than Thanos. Plus they can do some quick foreshadowing in the new F4
