There’s definitely a lot to play around with story wise as Robert being the big bad
That has to be one of the emotional cores of the films. Would also be interesting to see how that works against Dooms relationship with Fan4
NOT MY SPIDER MAN
You gotta be super close minded to not find any enjoyment in Holland's Spidey.
Seeing Tom and Robert reuniting on screen is gonna be crazy.
I really enjoy Toms Spider-Man but I hope he's more grown up and mature when they finally meet again
He won’t be
Kang had even MORE buildup than Thanos did. A central role in the Loki finale, a primary role in season 2, and the main villain of Ant-Man. That is real build up because there is no MacGuffin that the character is centered around. The MacGuffin is what the movies were primarily focused on building.
Thanos' character and motivations were all established in ONE FILM. It can be the same for Doom. It can be done in a single film with a brand new actor. I for one am curious to see what they do but this is clearly a nostalgia baity casting. Could it add to the story? Sure, but the quality writing has to be there for it to matter.
Thanos' appearances prior to Infinity War, broken down to their simplest aspects, are:
Turning his head to the camera at the end of Avengers
Being Ronan's boss in Guardians (with like a minute of screentime)
Grabbing a glove at the end of Ultron
What if any of those contributed to the character work done in Infinity War? Doom can be completely established in Doomsday. One film. Whatever he does will carry over to Secret Wars and Doomsday will be the film where we learn about the character and their motivations. It can work that way.
I for one hope this is something beyond a nostalgia casting and it's something with some meat to it. But as of now all it seems like is nostalgia bait.
Not even saying I dislike nostalgia bait, s*** I had a great time with Deadpool last night. But there was a little something more to that movie than just nostalgia bait.
If they want to outdo or match the hype of Infinity war, they gotta go bigger. Go deep into the multiverse shenanigans and make the villain someone we recognize. Him being a Tony Stark variant is definitely to make more people interested in the film as well, same reason why they got the Russos back. It is exactly what you say it is, nostalgia bait. Pretty much this whole multiverse saga has been. We just got a f***ing Deadpool and Wolverine movie using characters from the old Fox movies. I imagine we're still getting his background and motivations in Doomsday as you said because he is playing Victor Von Doom, not just another Tony Stark. My point is that making him a Tony Stark variant is getting more people interested and hyped for the film and brings the multiverse saga together better imo. Just cause it's bait doesn't mean it can't turn out great. Me personally, I'm not gonna cry about it. Instead imma see what they cook up

Tom Holland was a great choice for spider-man. Civil War might have been my favorite on screen Spidey portrayal ever.
I was mixed on how they made Peter so naive and childish throughout the trilogy but they brought it home for me with NWH no pun intended.
Holland spider man hasn’t been his own human for most of his 3 movies and wasn’t in New York fighting smaller crime
All world ending event movie type s*** that isn’t heart felt at all
Raimi movies clear
Internal conflict for Spiderman go brr. But yeah there's no possibilities with this choice and it's a bad decision. I don't see it as a bad decision, a peculiar one maybe, but doesn't mean it's a bad or the wrong decision.
Holland's Spider-Man is definitely going to be one of the lead Avengers in the next film. He's already outgrown the kid Spider-Man phase esp with NWH

Exactly. His arc in NWH was solid to me.
Hell of an argument bro
I’m on phone and when you bring up spider man that’s a keyboard discussion
Andrew could have been the best Spider-Man ever but his movies were so ass.
He killed it in NWH

Moment between him & Zendaya was so healing
I will break down the holland trilogy on Monday
On short saying “ we aren’t doing origin “
Then the entire trilogy is an origin into the spider man we want to see is my issue

I like Holland's portrayal, the first movie is the best one though imo.
NWH lowkey started this nostalgia bait kick Marvel been on imo and Holland got overshadowed in that flick

The origin with RDJ was a good rendition
But I was always iffy of giving Peter all that tech so early on.
Glad hes starting to look more grounded moving forward

Aight this is cap. Homecoming and Far From Home both had relatively smaller stakes, Far From Home just didn’t take place in New York

And even the first one was only so good but yes clearly best

An origin done differently than any iteration we've ever seen in love action before.

Crazy how there's an alternate universe where Andrew Garfield is the MCU spidey. It was in the final stages before he got fired for missing a meeting lol. Idgaf what no one says, he was my favorite portrayal of spiderman and is the best actor out the 3. He deserved another chance

Vulture stealing the weapons of the avengers is small stakes ? Smaller for are but be real

One of Spidey's core characteristics is that he's essentially the common man's superhero when compared to others. He's not an alien or god like Superman and Thor and not super rich with a bunch of resources like Batman.
He was really just a queens nigga with superpowers lmao

I agree bro. I said Andrew could have been the best Spider-Man ever had his movies been actually good.
He can do everything. Drama and Comedy
