Eh, anything before No Way Home kind of gets a pass (financially) because COVID was still bad
They did good in 2022 and stumbled in 2023
2024 they got lucky because it’s their only one
2025 going to be the real test for them in theaters
2025 shouldn't be too hard since they'll be riding the wave of this year
RDJ performed magic with Tony Stark. That first film was really a fresh take on the genre.
Compare sonys morbius, kraven and madame web to the x men
Also this
X-Men are one of the most popular IPs in all of comics. This nigga comparing C-tier Spidey villains to them is hilarious

Nah nah nah I’m talking quality trash
has anything been explained on the timeline of this ?
like is this a russo bros idea? if so i wonder how long they’ve been in the fold, cause this came to fruition quickly.
if it was already in the works would make me a bit more nervous
Eternals dead in the water
As is Kang after a pathetic buildup that had him doing nothing but taking Ls at every turn

It most likely starting rolling into place March 2023 when Jonathan Majors got arrested
As is Kang after a pathetic buildup that had him doing nothing but taking Ls at every turn
All they had to do was him him kill Ant Mans daughter

I think it was gonna be impossible for audiences to take him seriously anyway after they decided he should lose a fist fight to Ant-Man. Still one of the most baffling decisions they’ve made so far

Truly baffling lmao
So they dropped majors for hurting that girls pinky but work with other more heinous people ?
People forget that Iron Man was a B-tier character at BEST before the MCU. People were scratching their heads as to why that guy was getting a solo movie.
And now 20 years later he’s an absolute household name.
It’s not impossible to make audiences care about lower tier solo characters. Is it hard? Yes. But not impossible, and Marvel has a track record of doing so
Iron man was always known man stop . I had toys of iron man in the 90s he wasn’t a complete nobody

I said he was B-tier, where did I say he was a nobody?

He wasn’t a crazy difficult character to get people to understand or attach to
Everyone knows Iron Man was not one of the most popular characters pre-2008.
It was Spidey, X-Men, Hulk, Wolverine, F4, etc.

Not most popular but out of the ones marvel had access to he was about it
They bet it all on him
People were not scratching their heads at an iron man solo
Yeah they were. In 2008? Marvel's biggest known IPs were Spider-Man, Fantastic 4, Hulk & X-MEN. They had the most merch and instant recognizability
Iron Man wasn't obscure but he wasn't the first nigga you thought of when Marvel came up. RDJ helped bring him to A-list tier

You letting the hindsight of the past 15 years blind the reality of what actually happened
Iron Man wasn't obscure but he wasn't the first nigga you thought of when Marvel came up. RDJ helped bring him to A-list tier
I’ll argue that to non-comic book readers he was virtually obscure.
A B-list character to comic readers is C-list to everyone else
Doing an Iron Man movie in 2008 would be like trying to start a series of DBZ movies around Piccolo's origin story
This was said about the movie in November 2005:
According to associate producer Jeremy Latcham, "we went after about 30 writers and they all passed," saying they were uninterested in the project due to both the relative obscurity of the character and the fact that it was solely a Marvel production. When the film did have a script, even the requests for rewrites met with many refusals.
