After all the rumors and fanfics that s*** looked like a straight spoof when he appeared. Which it worked for Deadpool cus of the comedic tone but I just can’t take him serious as an ACTUAL serious Gambit.

YANDHII feel like the thing that helped last time was Russos were picking up partially on storylines and characters they had already worked on. They were a key part of the Infinity build, worked with a large part of the cast and were the first to direct characters like Black Panther and Spider-Man. Giving them the Avengers films was kinda natural
This is just kindly handing them a s***show and praying they conjure up literal magic

Mar 27YANDHII'd argue fans love multiverse tho. It's the easiest way to get nostalgia and old actors in, which has been their main reason for box office success recently. When things got tough multiverse allows them to just rehire their old guys which makes fans intrigued. How is that forward tho
NWH, MoM and Deadpool were all huge and multiverse saga films. The pull wasn't the multiverse itself tho, it was that they had cameos from Fox and Sony franchises from the 2000's
I get your point and overall am rooting for them these next two films but having seen this abused in film and comics i think multiverse actually makes a film way harder to nail. There's far more to juggle and you have to stay truthful to prior narrative logic. You're 100% bound by past films that used multiverse as well
Yeah, the multiverse should never be the selling point of a film. It needs narrative tissue with previous entries. The problem here ofc is they’ve wasted our time by half assing the previous movies. MoM added minimal context, The Marvels a movie no one saw or cared about had the biggest piece of the puzzle. Then there’s dead ends like Moon Knight, Hawkeye, and Daredevil.
Now they’re in a box and having to just rely on the multiverse when there’s no narrative skeleton to justify a multiverse extravaganza. We should have been seeing the MoM universe die. We should have seen a live action PS4 Spiderman fighting off another universe. We have none of that

I dont know what you talking about bro I think you just don't like the live action portrayal of the character. Channing did as good a job as anyone would do with the Cajun accent it's just a funny accent
