Eyes of Wakanda is decent so far. Only thing I’ve never liked is the futuristic tech tbh. Like these niggas got holograms n spray that seals wounds in BC times. Makes it more and more difficult to understand their isolationist stance. Don’t mind it being advance, but within reason and at least give me some exposition on how these things work. A lot of the tech just feels like 80s-90s sci-fi doohickey things of convenience.

Like what allows them to even make these things? Like there is almost no sense that went into this the more I think about it. Like sure they have access to Vibranium, but how’d they figure out how to use it for anything more than just armor and martial weapons? Bridge that gap and all the other s*** is cool with me.

He's right on a lot of this, however when it comes to the audience woes, it can really be as simple as Marvel's time in the spotlight has just been coming to an end.

Endgame was truly a gift and a curse. The ultimate culmination of a decade's worth of storytelling, character development, and world-building in one big cross-property finale. Ton of money coming from that, bar to succeed was low because people will just be happy to see all their favorite characters coming together for memorable moments and to see how it all ends.

The downside to all this is that now everything that comes after will have to equal the scope of an Infinity War/Endgame. Swiftly. The overall vibe I've been getting from fans is that they don't have the patience for another ten years of build up for the next big event film. And part of that is on Marvel since they caved to these demands. They sloppily got out of the plan they had in mind for Kang, and I understand why because the movies haven't been received all that well. But at the very least they had a story in mind, and there was a way to still have a quality pay off with Kang Dynasty. But since scrapping that, they been scrambling and rushing to setup a new big bad/major event film and the build up for it has been so...damn near non-existent. Part of what made IW/EG truly hit was that there was years of build up and stakes established.

I can see Doomsday being successful (Huge cast on the scale of IW/EG) because people are gonna want to see it, even with little to no proper setup. But I also see it being an absolute mess storywise. Makes me feel like Secret Wars will be more of a clean-up film and a hard reboot to get them out of the mess they created and start over completely fresh with X-Men, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four being their big three for the next gen.

  • Oh yeah they definitely introducing Mephisto so that they can give us the One More Day Spider-Man storyline as the sequel to Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

For those who haven't read the Spider-Man: One More Day event...consider yourself lucky

I mean you can just watch the first movie where they say that the Vibranium meteorite landed in Wakanda, and the radiation of it was imbedded into the flora and fauna of the land and consumed by the people. Giving them an advanced connection and understanding of the mineral.

Like in every Black Panther comic/story that's what they use to explain why Wakandans were capable of getting so much out of Vibranium and why they advanced significantly faster than the outside world.

Even if you don't read the comics the movie explains this within the first five minutes lmao what was hard to miss?

Too hand wavey magic for my taste. I’ve been reading a lot of hardcore sci-fi though these last few years, so I need a lil more depth n care than that.

The tech is just led purple lights now. No real technical thought behind it.

Then read Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda bro...ion know what to tell you they've frequently explained why Wakandans were able to advance so rapidly with Vibranium since the 80s...

Black Panther is literally a fusion of sci-fi and spirituality/magic. That's been the premise for decades lol it's a group of people capable of building technological marvels and societies while also connecting to their roots and the afterlife through use of herbs, religious traditions, and sacred rituals. Where have you been?

My gripe with the tech isn’t specifically with Black Panther. I didn’t like it in Young Justice either. Tech that’s so futuristic it might as well be magic. Especially when it’s human-made and everyone else around them is still using tech similar to us irl.
