I don't think they retconned their ages, she looks the same as she did in that post-credit scene of The Winter Soldier. They never fully explained their origins besides that the Mind Stone was used in some way, they just made her a more special being now instead of just an experiment, which I love

I could see how she is tied to Witches but Mutant just makes more sense being that her brother has a completely different power set. I forgot what they were retconned to in the comics though.
