but my contention is that many viewers hurt their own enjoyment of WV by overly indulging in online theorizing and clickbait quotes from actors, and the viewers who did this would be more likely to be fanboys because non fanboys wouldn't have indulged in said online activity

I'm not saying you can't be independently critical of it. but I've found that people who were less invested in marvel lore enjoyed it more.
