I don’t consider most indie to be good either. I don’t participate in film festivals but I will support the movie whether it drops in theaters or is available to buy. Just over this year and 2020, I watched S***house, Hunter Hunter, The Half of It, Possessor, Sputnik, Palm Springs, Minari, Sound of Metal, Better Days, Color Out of Space, the Platform, Martin Eden, Kajillionaire, etc and liked maybe a fraction of them

Too many filmmakers nowadays think either the social justice message is enough to outweigh the preachy tone deaf writing and amateur direction or think simply emulating better filmmakers of the past is enough.

I’m just tryna find the disconnect here lol. Bro doesn’t like blockbuster, yet doesn’t like indies either, doesn’t care for film festivals, only thing I’ve seen bro really enjoy is Michael Bay movies and Lord of the rings

Wouldn’t be the first great filmmaker to have absolute s*** opinions

It’s such a crock of s*** to use some filmmakers opinions on movies to validate your own beliefs. I can point to far better filmmakers than PTA in Francis Ford Coppola or Scorsese who have s*** on the MCU if I wanted to, but I don’t hold stock in what filmmakers think because most of the time these guys are influenced by the studios feeding them when they say the s*** they say

Those movies are 4-5 years old and they’re serviceable. There’s some creative integrity on the screen but ultimately still suffer from a number of the same flaws as the entire MCU.

Again I’d see them simply because some of my friends love the MCU movies and just like sometimes I drag them to something I wanna see that they don’t like, they drag me to these s*** MCU movies. Last ones I saw were endgame and far from home.

Ima keep hating on the sole existence of this trash. I haven’t discussed Loki once cuz I have zero desire to ever see it but I’m still gonna laugh at the fact plebs wanna see this s***

Between Paul and (previously) indie Chloe supporting the MCU I can't imagine they agree with your take on it being the demise of cinema. Your hyperboomer Marty and Francis takes are even more out of touch (and hypocritical considering Marty succd the biggest budget of his life out of Netflix). Did they think the end was nigh when the Universal monster pictures started crossing over? Like o fuk Frankenstein met the Wolf Man this medium is doomed

I never claimed superiority. I just said I don’t enjoy dogshit toy commercials and y’all got upset because you enjoy that trash. The fact you were so upset and assumed that’s what I’m saying clearly tells me you got some kind of serious daddy issues from your childhood that have seeped into the current. Thus, you’re adopted.

As great as Irishman was, even that was marred by Netflix’s studio standard bullshit of being required to shoot in an ARRI format that at times gave it that smoothed out bland Netflix look

And it’s funny you used the “great filmmaker” excuse to validate Paul’s thoughts and are now falling back on the “boomer excuse” when I name greater filmmakers than Paul. Again, unlike Scorsese and FFC who are huge solidified names, PTAs brand is always going to be in trouble because he’s never really made profitable films, so he needs to suck his producers d***s in order to keep making movies. That’s why he will never shame modern filmmakers.

And the invisible man was absolute f***ing dogshit, so I’m definitely not going to be checking out these social justice warrior Universal monster flicks. Nomad land fits exactly what I’m saying as well about modern indie filmmakers being trash and just thinking simply force feeding in a woke message makes your film good. Chloe is a boring as f*** filmmaker and honestly a perfect fit for Marvel
