None of the films have had the balls to go full Lee/Romita with Peter tbh. Guess they’re scared that audiences will feel betrayed cause their idea of who Peter should be is kinda boxed into early Ditko Peter (hence the average person’s notion of Tobey being the most accurate portrayal)

This is why every live action iteration of the character has to be a loser in some respect

That severely limits the creative freedoms to explore with the character

Nah Spider-Man TAS really crossed over with Punisher, Fantastic 4, X-Men and what not that era was crazy.

Also you're point about them not adapting material past the early 60s is a good point and is how I feel when niggas say Snyder's Superman is a bad Superman. But We aint gonna derail the thread

I think there are some key things that make Snyder’s Superman feel out of character from what the character would normally do and one of those things is basically in the midst of battle with Zod

Inadvertently destroying the entire city!
