I am in no way exaggerating in anyway shape or form when I say I think anyone who says Homecoming or Far From home are better MOVIES not cinematic movies, special effects, visuals, or comic accurate MOVIES than Spider Man 1 and 2 I will just never see eye to eye with.

Are homecoming and far from home better visual, comic book accurate, budget ? yes in some ways but they came 15 years later.......

Do they lack a lot of their own DNA because they are so entrenched in Avengers, Iron Man, Civil War than they need to be ? yes

Does him being in high school all of these movies even if they are trying to tell the story slow affect things? yes especially because it can be argued that their world building lacks because they barely spend time in New York, he is given a suit, s*** he is given suits

we dont see him learn his powers because he has been spider man for a lil bit when this definitely a character where they would have benefitted from showing what he was doing BEFORE HE MET TONY STARK. I am not saying we needed to see Uncle Ben die or spider bite but a lot of that EARLY SPIDER MAN BEFORE HE HANDED A TECH SUIT WITH A KILL MODE IS IMPORTANT

SEEING SPIDERMAN IN POVERTY AND BE FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER MAN BEFORE SAVING THE UNIVERSE, DISAPEARING, SOLVING A CIVIL WAR BETWEEN SUPER HEROES

IS IMPORTANT

its alternating stakes

so was Tobey crying corny and some of the acting that feels dated ? yes

but as movies by themselves they are infinitely better

This also isn't entirely fair though because Marvel was basically pigeonholed into not doing the origin story after being brought in to clean up Sony's mess..

Clean up Sony's mess? Homecoming was their first movie in the universe like yes they did have to explain what spiderman was up to in MCU and why he aint help in avengers etc but there is no excuse for how they did it bro come on. They kind of just skipped over it for ease
