There’s a story of him really really wanting that role despite his agent telling him comic book movies aren’t a good look. He auditioned for it while on set for another movie

He saw the value and respected comic book movies, and you can tell in the movie he was really enjoying playing him

And now he gets to come back for the biggest Spiderman bag ever

starting to think sony is actually gonna do the sinister twelve instead of the sinister six
