Ned really is a terrible character. He’s not nearly as developed as MJ or Harry Osborn was in the OG movies or even MJ in the current movies
If they did kill him off, it wouldn’t have much impact because his character is so underdeveloped
I think he fits the group as peters friend who he can talk to but now that MJ knows he is spidey, he isn’t even that
