Related to Brand New Day, I think in Doomsday Beast uses a time cube to bring the X-Men from another timeline into the 616, but for some reason they get splintered off, Jean being one of them and now she’s on the run in New York (the X-Mansion is traditionally in New York). This is how Doomsday and Brand New Day take place around the same time but in a way where Brand New Day leads into Secret Wars
