    SpiderMan

He's forced to abandon his crush at the Homecoming dance in the first one to fight her father.
When he finally gets a girlfriend in the second one, his identity is revealed to the whole world and becomes public enemy #1 for 'murdering' Mysterio.
In the third one he's forced to make his girlfriend and best friend forget him just to keep the entire world safe.

He's quite literally never had it easy.

I get tired of rehashing this same exact discussion . Forced to abandon his crush to fight her father is a villain that he has because of an iron man plot line more than his own . Spider man has always had to leave other things to fight crime and to me personally the tension of the villain knows is done better in spider man 1 dinner scene

Finally gets a girlfriend with no dates. No real earned build up . On a trip to another country . The mysterio “ I got murdered “ plotting also kind of dogshit to me . Mysterio literally known for lying and they are like “ yep we will take your word on this one since you are dead “ . When his death is of his own devices . Similiar to goblin .

Making his girlfriend and his best friend forget he is spiderman which they knew too soon in the first place isn’t that difficult . I’m glad they did it

We spent entirely too long in high school. Said it wasn’t an origin story only to really be 3 movies of spiderman. Becoming the spider man we want

I respect aunt may died even if I think they did it in a cheap way . No job so he can finally get a job and own apartment . Being rich and connected to iron man with villains and tech centrally focused on iron man or the lack there of . Threw the whole story off for me . I respect people love the watts trilogy but if none of the criticisms many of us are saying were valid he would still be directing and writing

I just said impossible. I said from ending of no way home I hoped they would be slow to rebuild friendship and romance in a distinct way not focused on spider man that felt natural but knew it is a hook

How does Vultures becoming a villain due to the Avengers collateral damage change like anything? It's like the stupidest thing to get mad over. If they did his actual origins, it would be like the hundredth time someone has had a mad genius/evil inventor type villain.
His characterization in Homecoming is way better and Keaton plays him so f***ing well. And the reveal he's Liz's father was so good. That whole scene with him and Peter in the car was great.
Peter even beat him in his own suit without any Iron Man gadgets, so the Iron Boy thing doesn't even work.
Homecoming is such a great Spider-Man movie, people would love it if they watched it with open eyes and ears and without comparing it to the Maguire movies.

For FFH, there is a buildup to the relationship across the entire movie, most Superhero movies have a single movie in which they get the love interest, it's really not that crazy.
The public in the movie doesn't know Mysterio is a liar; you do as someone who has watched movies, cartoons and played games. They know him as the guy who was beating those Elemental villains throughout the movie. Him pulling a trick and decieving the public is actually pretty fitting.

If anything they didn't spend enough time in highschool, I wish the 3rd one had more highschool elements. I'm actually sad they're skipping over college as well. Spider-Man has a rich history of being a superhero in high school and college, there's no problem in drawing from it. It's one of the reasons he resonates so much with youth. Tom is probably gonna continue a long time as Spidey, we'll probably get a lot more grown Spidey stories anyways.

Jon Watts quit because he was burnt out over the No Way Home production which was hell due to being shot during peak COVID. He even quit F4 over it. He didn't get fired and Sony actually wanted him to continue, they wouldn't wanna fire the guy who just made them back to back billion dollar films and the last one almost did 2 billion without China.
If you saw the NWH promotions, you could see how exhausted that man was.
There are problems with NWH but a lot of them stem from COVID f***ing things up, it's still pretty solid despite them but if not for COVID it probably would have been even better.

    you cooked

The biggest issues with no way home to me are the script . Covid a reason for many things but if you don’t have a great script or you are writing in ned has a magical maguffin . Everyone forgets Peter to retcon the ending of far from home . It becomes what is the point at times .

Did we need no way home 2 years after far from home that bad ? I think no especially considering how it’s taken 5 years on this one . I don’t even think they did a multiverse story that much justice in no way home . It’s saving grace was really the ending of “ wow he really will be on his own now “ . I don’t think aunt May needed to die but get she was done with role .

The “ if a global pandemic didn’t happen it would be a better movie “ yes a lot of art would be better but I can’t play what if . I need to check the writers but there is no way that yall love the writing of the Jon watts movies that much . Waiting til I see this week on if it truly improved but that’s a point that needs to improve

rewatched no way home last night. had an absolute blast.

I watched it last a few nights ago too and I disagree big time. It's just a fan service bullshit movie. It just makes us go OHHH I REMEMBER THAT HAW HAW HAW!

How is that a good movie?

The man is about to have 2 separate billion dollar plus movies in the span of a couple weeks under his belt, so it’s fair for him to be feeling himself rn, but goddamn.
