If there’s a tear jerking scene between Spider-Man and the f***ing Punisher then this movie should qualify for automatic classic status for pulling off something that buckwild on premise alone.

My clear eyed innocent childhood hero and my edgy teenage era anti-hero are gonna be reconciling their differences and bonding on the big screen baby.

Waiting for the $5 t mobile tickets to go live and everything is damn near sold out and I need to buy 3 tickets

idk if it's just because we have more theaters near me but i'm kinda shocked how few shows are sold out on Thursday evening/night near me

lol i mean normal tickets no Dolby they doing midnight and later showings but yeah

Legit only concern I have with the movie is it running the risk of being overstuffed, but hearing the director talk about using the Punisher and the Hulk as more than just cameo characters and having their arcs in the movie tie into the movie’s own central themes I think could go a long way to avoid that from happening.

I’m just wondering how “standalone” the movie will feel, obviously connecting to the previous movies in the franchise, but if you theoretically haven’t seen much of the MCU Hulk in other things or The Punisher’s series or One Last Kill special will their integration in the film feel seamless and will their characters make sense divorced of everything else around this movie?

I hope this gets investigative with The Hand, Scorpion’s origin, Sadie Sink, DODC, and Tombstone

I could be entirely wrong given I’m sure stuffs leaked but I imagine some amount of the villains in this will be taken care of in a montage similar to the one at the start of F4 that serves as a “what peters been up to”

But maybe I’m entirely wrong, that’s just my prediction

Is there though? It’s not like every character is gonna have their own backstory, it’s really not necessary, just treat them like any other character that you would have in a movie.

I mean, think about Into the Spider-Verse for instance. Movie had Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Prowler and the Kingpin and it was under 2 hours, on top of being an origin story.

Think Holland essentially said as much which would make sense given Dewolff is in it.

I think you can get away with certain things in animation vs live action. Might be thinking too deeply into it, but i feel like there's a difference.

I think if those characters have limited screen time its not that much of a problem

They'll probably do the Death of Jean DeWolff arc eventually in this trilogy in some way.

Vulture and these other Villains being focused on Stark Tech not Osborne and not Spider Man makes it not even feel like Spider Man truly exist in the world in some ways. Yes its the MCU I get that while at the same time he is just a nuisance or a conduit for them to get to stark tech. We see that when they are trying to steal the avengers weapons which for some reason Tony doesnt have security on to a better degree. Iron Man there for boat but not for weapons being stolen from a transport vehicle with lax security with a known flying villain. Tony has made enemies or people that know he has power so they are gunning for him not Spider Man is less engaging to me. If you love it thats great.

Also no he wasnt a mad evil genius simply. Vulture owned Toomes Aerodynamics and was obsessed with flying when he was younger. He made the wing technology himself with his company which rivaled osborne because osborne wanted to buy him out. Eventually getting a youth absorbing device the talet of time from Hammerhead.

Having VULTURE who is consumed by absorbing youth to be younger in a high school story and doing nothing with it was absurd. Because when Vulture was first announced I mentioned this idea. S*** when Vulture was announced for SPIDER MAN 4 RAIMI I mentioned this idea.

His characterization in Homecoming is way better and Keaton plays him so f***ing well. And the reveal he's Liz's father was so good. That whole scene with him and Peter in the car was great.
Peter even beat him in his own suit without any Iron Man gadgets, so the Iron Boy thing doesn't even work.
Homecoming is such a great Spider-Man movie, people would love it if they watched it with open eyes and ears and without comparing it to the Maguire movies.

Revealing the villain daughter is spider man love interest created tension . I said the villain knowing that the hero is their secret identity to me was executed better in Spider Man 1. You say work better without comparison when this forum the first thing people said when they logged on after homecoming was "best spider man movie ever" not even what they liked and disliked about it. I was here. I am saying the execution of a specific moment to me was flimsy.

Peter beating him with his own suit and lifting the concrete to escape the area were good scenes overall. I dont even think any of the 3 movies are out right terrible. I think they are flawed and people say they are the greatest ever. There is a difference.

The public knows Mysterio creates things that arent there by fact of his powers itself. Thus in time they would know from not seeing the destruction. I get he has fought elementals but by the point of Far From Home End Game has already occured. The idea that Spider man saved the universe in infinity war and Endgame then . If he was wearing his mask in far from home the main technology he should have kept isnt the ai telling him everything but a basic camera like a body cam which would show what was happening so a villain couldnt lie about what happened.

As for the more high school . That could have been accomplished in 2 movies with homecoming and far from home . I think going to another country rather than focusing on him being the friendly neighborhood spider man took away from it some. Especially again with a villain that absorbs youth. Also Peter Parker being someone who disappears after infinity war was stupid as was it with black panther. I would have loved if Marvel used that time with heroes disappearing to tell solo stories of world without the heroes in between in the same universe or if it was they were in their own world . Wasted time to me

I dont blame Jon Watts on everything. I dont like the writers of chris mckenna and erik summers. The writers of ant man and the wasp, lego batman and jumanji. They are still unfortunately writing on this movie as well. I am hoping Destin got some input because Spider Man is kind of cursed of being given to odd writers. This also happened with Amazing Spider Man 2 with Alex kurtzman and Robert Orci. when if writing is the issue let the director write it or at least choose their writers. Rather than let people causing the most problems continously get rich . It shouldnt take an actor openly saying they are waiting on a better script or they are getting fan feedback vs a writer doing those things and knowing the script isnt fully there

Jon Watts quit because he was burnt out over the No Way Home production which was hell due to being shot during peak COVID. He even quit F4 over it. He didn't get fired and Sony actually wanted him to continue, they wouldn't wanna fire the guy who just made them back to back billion dollar films and the last one almost did 2 billion without China.
If you saw the NWH promotions, you could see how exhausted that man was.
There are problems with NWH but a lot of them stem from COVID f***ing things up, it's still pretty solid despite them but if not for COVID it probably would have been even better.
