It's not cool to be weird, man
So I've historically been an IMAX guy and was bummed to not see these movies in that format
I saw Fantastic Four last year in both IMAX and Dolby (Row E), and thought IMAX was 10x the experience. Dolby felt super flat compared to it - didn't really hear the benefits of the sound quality either.
I have now seen Spider-Man 3x in Dolby
Twice in Row D
Once in Row B
Visually, Row D was the better, more comfortable experience
But Row B, overall, might be better. The difference in sound and feel from the second row to the 4th+ is night and day. The tank chase scene, you feel ALL of it and its rumbling through your chair.
Idk why the experiences are so much different by row, but thought I'd share.
Going forward with Dolby, I think I prefer B or C vs the more traditional Rows D-E.

Uncle Ben I can let go some even if it feels odd . The rest genuinely bothers me especially because a job and oscorp could easily fill in some of the writing gaps we are seeing
Literally had the perfect opportunity to correct all of that in this movie too after the NWH ending
There's so many fundamental Spider-man story elements missing from MCU Spider-Man. No uncle ben, Harry Osborn, Daily bugle photographer job, etc. I'm surprised he's so beloved regardless of this
Uncle Ben exists, and is mentioned lightly a few times since Civil War. Reason being because 10 years ago when people were excited for Spider-Man to be the MCU, everyone was fine with not retreading the Uncle Ben stuff because EVERYONE knows the story already.
Harry can still pop up, Daily Bugle is a podcast now and idk if I’m living under a rock but newspapers are not on the same level as podcasters rn. Plus everyone has a cellphone, you can find 100+ Peter Parker’s in NYC lol.
You want Peter fetching JJJ some coffee while singing Spidey’s praises before they record?

Obviously Uncle Ben exists but he does not play a role in Spider-Man’s origin. Russos confirmed this
Superman still works at the Daily Planet in the new film. No excuse. It’s a superhero movie, people can suspend their disbelief with the newspaper industry lol. Also they’re definitely not doing Harry at this point. If they do, it’s probably just gonna be some weird rendition of the character like the MCU Flash Thompson that is insignificant to the plot

Not huge on flashbacks but a flashback with uncle Ben and aunt May maybe .

The entire home trilogy was a lot of retreading . S*** this movie retreaded some . This notion that you guys keep saying isn’t doscongruent with what we are saying. We didn’t need to see uncle Ben die . To feel his weight more . We’ve seen him grieve aunt may 1 movie more than uncle Ben all movies . Same as we’ve seen him grieve iron man more than uncle Ben . That’s kind of like if Batman or Superman had someone die other than their parents and just focused on that death over why they became a hero at all
Having a job is a basic ask. Him having consistent rent money . Ordering food and maintaining a secret identity for 4 years while there is an entire app tracking him gets a bit into looney territory . You being so against some basic elements of spider man and peter Parker while having a spider man tattoo and saying you used to fund spider man 2 boring is lowkey insane .
Peter could attempt to make friends and be a human being doing random s*** . He’s always done that in the cartoons , comics and movies . Even while grieving. The overworking plot line could easily be accomplished by being spider man and Peter Parker. S*** you could have aunt May wasn’t expecting to die or messed up her life insurance or he at least helps run her charity organization since she passed to honor her in more ways than just place flowers on her grave
Writing wise there’s a lot you can do but some fans make excuses. As they do at the launch of every movie get caught up in hype and act like something is perfect
Daily bugle being a podcast is also dumb and corny writing you are getting it
. Could easily just be a tv news network . Could be civilians all trying to get footage which they basically are due to the tracker . Him having a job outside of being spider man helps build the world . Instead we see a bmw ad , little Caesar’s ad and random things that place us in a reality trying to sell us then ads for the mcu . Even the corner store was nice to ground in the world

Or are you too used to the same spider-slop of the last 64 years
Ended up working late af got a quick shower and heading to the theater soaking wet
He soaking wet
doomsday not beating this, right? right?
This is on an Avatar/Endgame level trajectory if it has good legs with its current standing, so I’d say no it’s not as of now
$168 in one day is something I can't even fathom
Man we’re about to witness something unprecedented
This series doesn’t get to those numbers without the Peter/Ned/MJ trio. Niggas might hate them, but they have a Harry/Ron/Hermione effect for a lot of fans of the franchise, and this dynamic serves as an emotional linchpin for our caring of Peter

You’re tapped in with all this comic s*** so ofc not. Us comic folks usually don’t care for them from what I’ve seen, it’s the gp that does/the wider public “us”
