He never needed one, that’s not necessarily the point tho. His relationship with Iron Man was Marvels way of giving Spidey a concrete connection to the core of the MCU, it just so happens that core being Iron Man himself

I’m just saying I don’t mind it as much as the rest of y’all since everything damn near points to Iron Man in the MCU anyway

& that I feel like should be the real discussion here, not so much why Spidey is so connected to Iron Man but exactly why Marvel feel like/can’t get past the character to move the universe along in general
