Yes that was my point look up black panther 1 original release date or I can do it for you

    https://www.polygon.com/2015/2/10/8010257/marvel-delays-thor-black-panther-captain-marvel-inhumans

@KnightmareLeague they don’t want to acknowledge reality

It’s not the only movie that moved…

Had Sony and Marvel NOT struck up that deal then the movie probably would’ve moved either way based on how the slate worked out

  • Oct 9, 2024

This the same Snyder logic of “ Batman would kill so I’m having him kill” if you
Want a multiverse being hero you have silver surfer and countless other heroes that you OWN to bridge that gap

Not a dumbass teenager who logically wouldn’t even be trusted to defend the universe

If you think Disney cares about Asians , black people or women seriously besides Money to actually tell great stories why not give them freedom

The main character in movie 1 is a cia agent lol

Shang chi they just took the director off a chance of a sequel to save this s***

The logic that an entire character should change or that during all this bullshit street level crime or all of spider man villains are subdued by the police is poor writing and world building

If you spend so much time in other dimensions and space you aren’t building your universe

Spider man has too many good villains to be fighting yet alone for all of them to be obsessed with Tony stark or better depictions of spider man

why the f*** would spider man build his own universe WITHIN the f***ing MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE

are you even reading what you’re saying??

Then why only blame Sony and I don’t know DISNEY

The contract that they have says SONY has FINAL creative say over the films. Sony has this whole side Spider-Man-less universe that they keep pushing and they want to integrate Spider-Man. This is how they are going to try and do so by bringing Venom into the MCU (allegedly).

So Disney/Marvel can pitch whatever they want, Sony still has to approve it. Seems like for the most part Marvel got their way, until now. Also I don’t think Disney wants to go through the public discourse again if they split from Sony. We’re arguing over a character owned by two corporations, it’s not that deep.

I don’t want this Venom crossover either but I’m not totally shutting the door to it. If it comes out good then it’s good. I’m not gonna pout because it exists.

We don’t even have 100% confirmation from trades yet this is all coming from rumor via a source that’s got more right than not, but still has gotten things wrong.

I agree that with Spider-Man specifically, the multiverse has been overused. Not just in film though, in all mediums. Marvel editorial has had a Spider-Verse hard on for a decade, Sony’s creative cash cow is the Spider-Verse franchise, the Spider-Man 2 DLC (if it ever comes out) is going to be Spider-Verse based.

  • Oct 9, 2024

Like is it not Sony’s fault for holding half the villains hostage in this mid side universe?

  • Oct 9, 2024

wanting ONE character out of a f*** ton to build their own universe within a shared universe.

    cmon man

Think this gets into the limitations of the MCU as a project/ idea vs how things work in comics and will only get worse with FF and X men

Yes all these characters exist in the same world and sometimes cross over but they do also very much exists in their own “worlds”

X Men deal with X-men issues and villains, spider man the same. It’s goofy but works bc comic books I don’t think you can get away with it forever in film idk

Like everyone can’t be in NY at all times and not be helping it doesn’t make sense

you’re right there are limitations, more so of course with cinematic universes rather than comics. with comics, you can get away with more due to the medium

dont think either FF or X Men will be in the same timelines or time period as the heroes that have already been introduced so that will give them their entry into the universe

as far as it getting worse, i personally cant agree until we get final product. i remember people signaling the infinity saga a failure and we all see how that went. we’re all working off rumors & theories so until these movies drop, ima just trust the process & hope for the best

I think Xmen if they end up in mainline MCU will be hard to explain genuinely unless it’s just multiverse don’t think about it mumbo. Like is Pete gonna swing by a random anti mutant protest I doubt it lmao

But as far it getting worse I meant the disconnect of all these people existing in the same places and time but also not doing so. It works in comics (barely) but in movies I think it’s more far fetched idk

New York is a real location in reality that exist in the mcu before and in reality

There is little to no world building in mcu

If you don’t understand what world building is I can explain

I’ve been explaining it for over a decade on here

Worldbuilding sets tone of universe and hero

no location has appeared across the MCU as much as New York, so thats simply not true

and again, New York is not apart of the payoff so why would they build that up in one franchise that is one component of a larger story?

the payoff for infinity saga was all the known heroes coming together to avenge humanity & save the planet. the payoff for multiverse saga is the same but to save the timeline(s). the overall story is bigger than New York, hence, no street level Spider Man

what you’re looking for has been done before. multiple times. for multiple years. across multiple mediums.
    go. watch. them
