anyone chosen wudve gotten this level of scrutiny, its just that her ethnicity is predictably being thrown in as a disqualifier by the racist vocal minority. as uve said, women are the center of the x-men franchise -- which also means naturally they bear the brunt of its most objectifying and myopic fanbase. compared to the others in contention (whatever u think of them), navarrette simply hasn't had the same kind of storied career over the past 5 years. i dont think its unfair for people to point that out, especially if they prefer their favored choices' acting over what little we've seen of what navarrette can do. ultimately, she'll have to prove everyone who doubts wrong (whether their critique is fair or not) and i'm personally open to seeing her do so. everyone else can speak for themselves

A lot of what people are dead set on about rogue is exactly what I joked about in the thread focused on the fan cast in their mind having big b**** , fat ass when this is a movie not a p***o. People audition for the role and there isnt a part of the rogue role that I dont think she can do. I love Anna Paquin but its already a low bar .
