This is exactly what I wanted to hear
Hopefully he executes this correctly
“Keep the cost down”
Coogler really should have been the one
X-men needs a black production team
Ngl it really should’ve been coogler if they got someone in house
Nooo I need this movie to have some visual sauce to it
Joss did write the Astonishing X-Men run in the 2000s so if anyone would know how to do these characters it would probably be him
Needed to hear this today, thanks
We might actually get casting before the end of the year
Depending on what era of X-men they’re adapting and how closely they’re adapting said era, they have to have Wolverine. So they should be real careful with that if their intent is “no Wolverine rn”

I don’t think the initial first movie has to have Wolverine and I wager it won’t.

If the intent is to recruit young actors and potentially not even name the first film "X-Men" though that might mean starting as far back as the original Stan Lee lineup which didn't have Logan, Storm, Nightcrawler, etc.. All of the classic characters recruited in Giant Size X-Men were firmly adult characters mixing in with the original students who are older by then.
IMO, they can get away with this at this point since they've refused to move on from Fox-era X-Men. We still have Hugh Jackman somehow around and even Nightcrawler is gonna be in the next Avengers.
A vocal complaint about mutant relations in the comic book world is that the race a***ogue doesn’t work as mutants are harmful. I think I have a solution: make Grant Morrison’s visual mutations the default for the average mutant, and give the average mutant harmless abilities that aren’t anything more than quirky. The x-men are the mutants that the public is familiar with; both the “good ones” due to their status/success and the face of mutant stereotypes ie all mutants being harmful. Folks like Magneto and Nightcrawler are your actors/athletes/singers and rappers. Most mutants just look weird and can do harmless weird stuff get hate behind the justification of “mutants can kill you at any second, look at the x-men or the brotherhood!”
They should further challenge the power argument of hating mutants
This is how I see it
spent last month making a 72 person fancast so this def the next mcu project im most excited for after this f***ass phase lol
