A good black panther movie would have reignited the MCU. The fact that they really thought they could get away with having anybody but tchalla be the lead was one of the worst fumbles of all time
in the heat of the moment of Chadwicks death(RIP) i remember most ppl being against it; even myself but, after thinking about like a week later. Recast def wouldve been what Chadwick wanted to keep the hero T'challa is alive
Trying to over leverage Disney plus and diluting the brand
Chaotic productions
Rushed VFX
Probably more stuff I'd put over this too
Recasting was the best option, but they didn't even handle Shuri properly so the Marvel fall off would have probably continued, tbh.

Nah, it's actually green-lighting bad scripts
Can't greenlight a bad script if it isn't even done by the time production starts
that's far and away not their biggest mistake considering that black panther 2 was halfway decent.
Definitely a good example of marvels complete ineptitude. Literally one of their biggest characters and instead they use the actual real life death of the actor as emotional manipulation to make the movie seem better than it actually is.

half way decent sounds like a bad movie to me
like it ain’t even all the way decent? Only half huh? That sounds like trash to me

BP should’ve been recasted although I was never against Shuri being the new BP
But I would say this post had way more to do with it & that them not keeping Majors or recasting Kang did more damage
Black Panther 2 > Black Panther 1
I don’t like either but at least 1 had tchalla and kilkmongerer
but hey that’s yo opinion I ain’t mad at u I just don’t understand it

in the context of the MCU, that's better than most stuff post endgame

how can you say that when kang was nowhere near as popular or successful a character as tchallas Bp. Kang appearance in antman 3 made that character dead on arrival. B4 they fired dude

I think the emotional impact of the film kind of carries it. I didn't really feel anything from the first one but I like it. Plus I think BP2 looks better than the first, and that Angela Bassett performance
Even the original plot for BP2 sounded better than the first with T'Challa coming back to a whole new Wakanda after being gone for 5 years. Movies about loss really hit for me.
Not letting the VFX team unionize. Made it possible for these dog water projects to get green lit and push 4-5 projects each year.

Mbj’s killmonger was the least convincing “villain” I’ve seen in a superhero film. Corny portrayal of the character and even worse performance. He was much better in bp2
