Small detail but this is the Marvel movie ever with a horizontal anamorphic lens. Interesting choice that distinguishes it
The only other CBM I can think of with that look is Man of Steel (ofc The Boys as well)
Wonder why Coogler went for horizontal. Every MCU movie and show goes for the typical vertical anamorphic lens
I have no idea what you just said but Imma take your word for it
Are people who were more into a recast idea feeling different after the trailer?
I really got the sense from the trailer and the interviews that they really wanted to honour Chadwick and honour their friend. Acting with a recast of him wouldn’t have been that
But I also get that T’Challa isn’t a character that the world/MCU has suddenly stopped needing just because of Chadwicks passing
i've decided this is actually one of the best trailers of all time.
i probably teared up to that Angela Basset line like 10 times rewatching this teaser and that's never happened before.
Coogler please pull this off
Last trailer that was this good was Ayer's Suicide Squad or Mad Max Fury Road.

Can't say without seeing the film

i'd say that first infinity war trailer was up there for comic book movies, i probably watched that s*** 1000x

Super good point. Has a lot riding on it but trailer definitely indicates something very special

I can't understand the idea of recasting so soon.
Imagine having to see a new actor basically pretend to be chadwick and everyone is acting like it's normal, but we as the audience know something is off.
plus that would be so much pressure for a new actor and basically impossible to fill the shoes so soon.
would be like if they tried replacing Heath Ledger in dark knight rises and a new guy is doing a heath impression.

It gave me more faith in the movie. I don't doubt Coogler..it's Disney who I don't trust.

It has a dimension to it, that screams quality. Its the first thing that stood out to me. The colors, the set locations, all the technical work looks tremendous.
Asked a mod and that OP wasn't active in the site since last November

Cause man of steel is a masterpiece that’s why Coogler got taste
"I am queen of the most powerful nation in the world, and my entire family is gone. Have I not given everything?”
I have chills every time I hear it
Angela Basset gonna be the first MCU actor to be nominated for an Oscar. Calling it now. Supporting Actress
Who do y'all think is the new Black Panther? My guess is it's definitely Nakia
In terms of the MCU, Shuri hasn't been established to be a big fighter.
If they have a choice to pick one Black Pather, I imagine it'll be given to the established fighter.
Lupita seems to be the top billed actor/actress now. So i imagine they're gonna get the biggest actress to lead the movies lol.
Also, in the image we see, imo the frame is too feminine to be M'Baku, and to thick to be Shuri.
Idk

I wanted a recast because, unlike Tony and Steve, it didn't feel like T'Challa's story arc was finished yet. It felt like there was more the character needed to do. And it seemed like Chadwick and his family would have been fine with it; so why not.
After seeing the trailer, I still feel like recasting would have been perfectly fine; but I understand now that recasting isn't the direction Coogler wanted to go in. And even if Chadwick would have either wanted it, or been fine with a recast, that doesn't mean the rest of the cast would have been fine with it.
I can appreciate that the movie looks like it's going to simultaneously be a celebration of Chadwick's life, as well as a celebration of T'Challa. It would have been cool to see the character's story continue without Chadwick; but there's no way Coogler and the writing team would have been able to create a powerful and emotional tribute for the actor if the character doesn't die with him.

Still 100% team recast. T’Challa is too integral a character to the Marvel universe to have one film and be done with.

Wouldn’t be mad at Nakia serving as Black Panther, but I still want T’Challa to be recast at some point in the near future

if doom still reconstructs the multiverse after secret wars they could always recast and act like that’s how he looked the whole time

yup thought the same thing. They are going to campaign hard for her. She hasn’t been nominated since the 90s too.

Haven’t peeped the new MCU plans yet, but if this happens, when would we see this? Like in a decade?
I want T’Challa back on the big screen in the next 2-4 years tops

avengers secret wars comes out november 2025
that’s also the end of the multiverse saga
Any idea on how they are going to spin Boseman’s death in the movie?
Maybe he dies in an explosion just like his father.
