I was joking with someone about it having a 84 meta score and being good . It winning no awards but being good was a reference to spider man 2. Awards don’t determine the worth of the game. I don’t think it will be bad . I think people know what they are are getting and for some it’s perfect . Phantom blade zero more my taste but I could see people having issues with either for various reasons

Oh they 100% took the feedback I know people on this one too. Insomniac sees all that feedback so I’m glad they learn from it even when they get good reviews that’s how we all grow

No one thinks this game will bad . I think in general we grew up on superhero games and great movie tie ins with crazy dope wild stories and gameplay . 20 years later they do take less risk where they used to push technology to max and really be the future of games from origins to spider man 2 ps2 to hulk ultimate destruction. Focus on fun . Previews been cool but no crazy new hook to me

This would be a preorder but Phantom Blade Zero and Control: Resonant are both dropping this Fall too. Very curious when Sony's review embargo for this one is.

hes saying my biggest fears tbh. its good and checks all the boxes but isn't wowing him and when compared to mindblowing previews for SM1, SM2 and GOW2018, it's clearly punching at a weight below those

I don't get the Control Resonant hype at all I have never seen a game and thought it looks cheap, it looks like it could be on PS4. Even something about the UI looks off, like this health bar is basic and such a weird color

Wolverine isn't blowing me away but it still looks way better than Control imo. This screenshot deadass makes me think of Warzone/Modern Warfare 3 zombies

To be fair, Im not sure the Insomniac Spider-Man games are "surprising" so much as very well-executed, which is going to be enough for me and a fair amount of other people but totally get why it's not for others. I also think there's some lack of enthusiasm online stems from super hero-fatigue being more of a thing in 2026 than during the releases of the Insomniac Spider-Man games.

All s***posting aside I think it’ll be a 7-7.5/10. I’d be surprised if it were even 8 or 9/10. I doubt they’ll make too many risky decisions on the first game of their new franchise

Their hero games aren’t for risk . Hero games of the past were for risk . Insomniac knows what works enough to be worth 70$ to people . Is it a life changing gameplay or story ? No but iterates on what has worked . Again as I said once Arkham and creed dropped that’s all people care about formula works .
