Math teaches you logic and reasoning. The formulas and calculations are only one part of it. Not to mention, like you said with AI and machines, the highest-earning and most in-demand fields in the future will still require a strong base of math knowledge.
Do you need to know long division to get by in a retail job? Probably not. Do you need to know linear algebra in order to land a role that uses machine learning? Absolutely.
