Agree to disagree, I will admit tho I do love the ending but I think the “iron boy jr.” thing was overblown.
Regardless tho no way home is a good/extremely well received movie.

the matrix became such an important part of our culture and our lives
seeing such a disservice to it, its crazy to me
I saw an interview from NPH saying the movie was shot like an indie movie, nothing was planned, even the fight scenes
I saw lana saying she shot a lot of this like sense8 and with the same crew, they improvised a lot
and I love sense8 but man that isnt the matrix, the matrix had some of the most brilliantly choreographed and directed scenes I've ever seen in cinema with tightly written dialogues
and now you have a shaky cam fight where neo says he still knows kung fu but all you see is air bending with a bum merovingian rambling about mark zuckerberg behind and it hurts
It just sounds as misdirected anger to me
Like i get it, we all love Matrix, and it kinda became this larger than life thing
So we cherish it for what it means to us, i get it
But part of art is that the artist is free to do whatever he/she wants. Nothing she makes is owed to us in that sense. And no artist is obliged to make sense to you
If it works for you it works, if it doesn’t coo, you’re free to criticise it.
But demanding her to change or calling her names or any of that is foul af. She is so sincere and true to herself above all.
Shooting an indie film against all expectations takes balls at least lets all agree to appreciate that fact.

His villains motivations were based in iron man , he did press conferences and public appearances like iron man , the glasses drone plot because of iron man , heroic sacrifice like iron man like I can go on forever combine this with wanting every villain to be his father or big bro

Resurrections is about this, about how if culture still even exists, the system will assimilate itself within everything you love about it and life, art, etc. It's about freeing oneself from stagnation, which means it's also about its own status as a reboot in an industry that seems to be sustaining itself upon merely retreading the past over and over and over again to keep people satiated and undesiring of and actively resistant to change. The very fact that the action is so different from the original trilogy is itself an expression of this change, because to simply recreate her past work. despite there being 20+ years between then and now, would be dishonest. It's a film about its creator saying she has changed, in a world that does everything in its power to stop change from happening.

the thing is when you expose your art to the world it stops being yours
the matrix turned into something much bigger than her, and this is something she acknowledges in the movie
I understand her intentions, in many ways the matrix 4 is a deconstruction of what is the matrix and what it represents
for example idk if you seen NGE mild spoilers ahead, in the last two episodes they did something similar to this to the show, but it was because they had extreme monetary constraints and they still paid respect to the fans and everyone that loved the show in giving us a proper ending with The End Of Evangelion
this does the opposite, this deconstructs everything that is the matrix without giving us a proper conclusion
it tries to tell a joke but fails the punchline
