still haven't seen anything past matrix 1 and i don't even remember if i finished matrix 1

It’s a good trilogy but 2 and 3 should be seen at once

    Only way I’m re-watching is if there’s a director’s cut

“I wish you would f***ing stop calling me that. I hate that name.”

    I f***ing screamed.

Bruh that scene gave me a sudden rush to the brain

    When Trinity flys…

How are people not f***ing with this?

It’s legit cus of nostalgic memories people had of the og trilogy. It’s less action and a different vibe/aesthetic, that’s all really.

    The Wachowskis stay being misunderstood.

Are people just misunderstanding this? What’s the criticism?

It seemed entirely intentional that we get knockoff versions of Morpheus and Agent Smith.
People say this is crap visually, but 1, that lifeless desaturated feel is by design and 2, it actually brings forth new visual concepts and ideas (some of which you highlighted).

    You get it bro

i didn't mean it in a condescending way!!

there's a slew of films that came out when i was a kid that i've never seen cuz i didn't watch movies as a kid. as i grew into adulthood i continued to neglect that entire era for reasons beyond me.

starting to rectify that now tho

i feel bad for making that joke now 😭

it's just banter bro no problem and ofcourse you don't have to necessarily like it or revisit something... do what you want

i like that you took it upon yourself to go back on some classics tho

I think alot of ppl felt attacked, like the wachowskis were mocking them and calling them fat gamers who crave action and guns and end credit scenes or some s*** lol

I thought this was gonna be like Glass. Now that’s a movie that tried to be meta and completely fell on its ass.

    This is Glass, done right.

Now that's a movie that deserves scorn lol

What did you think of Groff as Agent Smith? I didn’t get why he hated Neo at first then helped him later

He was always trying to ruin NPH’s plans.

NPH needed Neo & Trinity to power the matrix, but didn’t need them to get too close otherwise they’d break free of his control.

Smith was trying to kill Neo to spite him. Once he realized freeing Trinity would do so as well, he went for that option

Ana predicted he d hate it, I figured based on his 2 star rating of revolutions and appreciation for dark knight rises based on liking the characters he just might dig it and lo and behold

Woulda made more sense for smith to be an exiled program and merovingian being neos boss

Nph putting smith in his matrix after all the s*** he caused previously seemed a little too fan servicy, smith turning on the machines at tye end just makes wm look even dumber lol

He's all about the rational and calculating mind.

Kinda like the rennaissance that led to the romantic era... it showed us it wasn't enough to just be well read or intellectual about everything, emotions matter... sometimes more than facts and reason

if anything a Merovingian living in our 21st century would indeed go insane because he would've lost the last remnant of hope in "humanity" as a tool to utilize and enjoy.

Also considering this man loved to enjoy the finer things in life, it's easy to see how that mindset got him caught up as a low life hobo down the line... you can't just keep pursuing all your passions and think you'll stay afloat... we see this all around us

If NPH is the Zucc pulling the strings behind the screens and plugging everyone back into the Matrix

then Merovingian is the p*** obsessed idiot that uses 50 different alts to talk to his fav onlyfans girls

and Smith would be the alt-right figure that spents waaay too time much roaming the dungeons of the inter-/darkweb and gathering humanity's worst traits by merit of that... all his dark knowledge slowly culminates into something akin to the ultimate AI opposite of Neo... this anti-christ/anti-love figure... he got reinserted into the Matrix to make sure Neo was afraid to speak his truth because Smith would immediately be on his ass hearing some lovey-dovey "we are the world, we are all The One" type s***...

Smith basically is the ultimate angsty adolescent who surpresses his superiority/inferiority complex since it's no longer easy unlike the 20th century olden days because of "political correctness"
