I refuse to give any more thought to this movie and I am simply going to move on 🙏🙏🙏🙏🤚
But it was like a 6/10 for sure.
It does the meta stuff in such a fun way but then it becomes the tropes and reboot stuff anyway and it feels like the movie just taught us to be smarter than that, so when neo is fighting new agent smith and it’s taking shots from the OG it doesn’t really connect
But theres some really good stuff in it!!!
The new architect wants to keep Neo suppressed so he’s a therapist who PERSCRIBES neo blue pills??? I thought that was just so clever and such a cool and fresh way to adapt and do something new with the original stuff
And because it’s been 60 years in the real world, they have updated tech like programmes can exist in the real world with nano tech and the guy controlling the computers while they’re in the matrix can hologram himself in
And the subtext about control and rebirth and waking up and stuff was very matrix and full of soul

like so many cool concepts but the execution is so bad in all of it this feels so f***ing rushed
I never agreed with sign but this feels like a 4.5 out of ten to me, and thats because I saw it in the little screen and feel its a TV movie
if I had saw it in imax I would have given it a 3 or a 2

i see things in a different light in some things , I work as a tv director so I notice some things
this movie was one of the worst shot movies I saw in the last few years
its ridiculous, because in the original matrix every shot is iconic
in this one you can tell most of it was completely improvised and when it wasn't they were just replicating shots from the original

Neil Patrick Harris said in a interview how even the action scenes felt like an indie movie how they were improvised im pretty sure he meant it as a compliment tho, im sure he hadn't seen the final result back then

Word. So make sense coming from a pro in the game. What turned me off of the trailers was the way it looked. Just looked cheap and basic. Even the scenes from the ogs in matrix 4 outshined the actual movie.
