    Affleck talk

It was very action driven. It was very deeply connected to the DCEU, with other major characters from other movies and other comics popping up. I just knew that when I read it this particular script was not the way I’d want to do it,” Reeves explained.

“I told them that there have been so many great movies, but if I were to do this, I’d have to make it personal, so that I understood what I was going to do with it, so that I know where to put the camera, so that I know what to tell the actors, so that I know what the story should be. This take, I told them, pointing at the script, is a totally valid and exciting take. It is almost James Bond-ian, but it wasn’t something that I quite related to.”

Reeves, who was still busy working on Apes at the time, told the studio that he couldn't even elaborate on his idea for the film at that moment, and would understand if they wanted to pass. "To my utter shock and surprise, they said, ‘you know what, we really would like you to do this. And we will wait.’”

For once WB made the right choice.
They would've absolutely shot themselves in the foot if they went through with making a Batman film deeply rooted in the DCEU. That whole universe is a complete mess right now

That Batman film highkey sounded like a team meet-up type film.
The right choice was grounding Batman again and approaching the character from a more personal level

But can they pull off Superman and other characters in this vein or always keep it seprated?

I think they'll keep making Wonder Woman and Aquaman films that will technically be in the DCEU, but will still be able to exist as its own thing

But I gotta feeling that next Superman film could be a standalone separated from the main DCEU

Especially if The Flash film leaks really are true.

conspire with abusers? Affleck is an alleged abuser and was dealing with alcholism. It is what it is but this cycle of snyder cult making snyder and all actors victims wild

Yep I definitely think WB is set on the next Superman being black.
Probably the main reason they distanced so much from Cavill lately

That is going to be a tough tough solo to write without coming right out of the headlines or being cringe so but if they actually find a way that would be cool

Yea man s*** is wild now they are gonna try and paint Reeves as some slimey dude who stole Affleck's movie on some conspiracy type s***

And yea Affleck has been very open about how bad his alcoholism was around that era and how burnt out he was from all the cape s***.
I'm pretty sure he went in to rehab around that time too, another Batman film would've sent mans over the edge

The whole Deathstroke kills the Batfamily thing just doesn’t seem appealing to me.

It likely would’ve been a huge hit for WB but I’ll take this over Affleck’s script any day of the week.

They dont really care about these people health as much as more content cause it wasnt even the best thing for Snyder to be working on Justice League in same year. But of course WB should have given him more time off and delayed to let him cook. I have never seen a fanbase so divided to this level lol

When hero movies get into "this character killed everyone they loved" it gets old fast. When there is so much crime going on in Gotham that could be covered or motivated
