Great mechanics, meh story that feels like it misunderstands the tone and atmosphere of the first two games, terrible pacing in terms of gameplay and cutscenes and how often the later interrupts the former.

But he’s right if they ever decide to do a remaster/rerelease i’d love to be able to skip cutscenes. There’s a mod for it on pc but it’s pretty buggy, you can’t skip certain cutscenes or the game gets stuck in a never ending load screen

This and GTA V were the last games I ever preordered lmao.

I remember when this came out on day one and I couldn't play it cuz Rockstar was having Social Club issues and ppl were PISSED. The multiplayer was actually not all that bad. A very simple 3rd person deathmatch shooter in hindsight, not too much depth, but it literally died like a month after release.

Matchmaking would take forever and the community died before they could ever address it. Was lowkey what started chipping away at the pedestal I had RS on at that time.

gameplay is good, storyline needs to be retconned though

Same, it’s literally the only thing holding it back from being almost infinitely replayable. The game feels amazing to play but it’s just not fun to sit through 5 minutes of cutscenes before each mission

You can get around most of them from what I remember, but certain longer ones later in the game hard lock you if you try and skip them
