It never had a release date but they wrapped and finally dropped stills earlier this year. The ratings issues then became the headline

X and Pearl dropped and were made and out the door very quickly with a Maxxxine trailer at the end of Pearl.

true but I don’t think they were planning on the franchise becoming as big as it did, this has the potential to be A24’s highest grossing movie

I think if profits were the concern they wouldn't care about the rating so much. Good return on the budget is the objective in horror.
