I kind of got a lot of lash back for a post i made in the music thread. i wanted to seek out different recommendations of music and i listed a little bit of what i liked, but some people started to jump my taste in music and proceeded to joke about me being afraid of black people? thats not true btw and i dont even know how it got to that point but it did.

i dont know. maybe i dont belong here. maybe me trying to connect with others on here isnt a great idea. im sure Cats fit perfectly on here because of shared interests with other people, and i know that my taste in music is a little different, but ive been listening to some stuff that he has and i liked it a lot and i figured he probably discovered half of who he listened to on this forum.

i gave it a try, but i seemed to get more questions and comments on why im even on here just as much maybe even more than people replying to my question in the first place.

There are still many i want to keep in touch with on here because they have been nothing but kind to me :)

A lot of posters are just super rude ignore them

I kinda felt the same way for a while but there's a ton of really nice people too

Life sections tends to be a lot more forgiving tbh. I don’t really post in music section anymore unless an artist I like dropped

Nvm read it. Music section isn’t exactly the best place to be. It’s worse than in the past and people will get actually hostile or just joke and you’ll misinterpret a lot if you’re new. Take it slow or try to get in a chat thread most of them are very accepting of new people

Chat threads barely exist anymore except for like misc sxn chat thread or private ones

Oh my goodness, yeah the misc sxn is where it’s at. That doesn’t mean stay away from music sxn, just know that not everybody is on here for the same reasons lol.

Cats stayed away from music sxn for that exact reason, it's generally s***ty & displays the worst of the site sadly. S deserves a better userbase in that regard, don't let them make you feel like you don't belong here homie. staying around the ppl you like on here is a good idea

There's threads for specific artists, like u can go to music sxn and then there's pop/electronic/indie/rock categories too (although its been weird Idk if they just merged it all back and you sort later)
