He tries to say that music went from a state of rebellion with weed as a symbol of such into a product with slower BPMs and hazy substanceless vibes based background music in the 2010s because weed was accepted and co opted into a product instead of a symbol of rebellion and cites the correlation of weed use since 1970 citing that one afroman song in 2001 as the turning point of it to a joke a product

Weed stopped being rebellious cuz it got more accepted and legal man and music ain’t even slower than before and it’s certainly not because of weed man.
