thats not the point, its to stop teaching women to be ashamed of their sexuality

whole idea is every woman can express themselves whatever way they want

.. and the video's suggested form of sexual expression is to twerk

Tbh it's funny to imagine old white critics like the man who got humiliated in the video typing think pieces fawning over this s*** 💀

"We are old white ppl too but just broke journalists not the ones in powerful positions that lowkey have women controlling them through sexuality, f*** our bosses. More power to those women" 💀

I'm a woman and I'm tired of this idea that you're not doing it right if you're not oversexualizing yourself all the time. It's empowering but it gets very bothersome after a point.

I love seeing female artists own their sexuality because for a long time, the world society, which is largely patriarchal, has shamed us from doing so, but some female artists reach a point where they start using that as a crutch. You're a wack, boring artist if ALL you can talk about in your music is your p**** or riding d***. That's just the fact. Megan is so one-dimensional that she can't even brag about being a dope rapper. All she can rap about is her body/sex.

We've had dozens of female musician icons come in and own their sexuality and do it in way more creative ways. B****es these days are just lazy and uncreative, that's all.

Meg really makes good music, it's just her image is the same thing we've seen so many times. Wish she'd repackage instead of it just being cookiecutter thot jams.

I wish Meg would’ve left the political element out of the video. I’d respect this song more if it was just about having fun

She wants to creative controversy a la WAP so she can get a hit on her hands. Lil Nas X did the same thing with his song/video. Rode the wave of controversy till he got a hit on his hands. His other two singles that weren't controversial (Holiday/Sun Goes Down) didn't do s*** on the charts.

You right but in her defense, I think she just over doing it cause its the easiest way to get commercial success. This a bad comparison cause she blocked her own success in a way, but Noname could never reach Meg level simply cause she not selling s***with her music. Thats why basically every woman thats on in rap right now doing it, they wanna sell and thats the best way.

S*** not empowering at all though, it just strengthen the misogynistic aspect of hip hop culture. Its similar to way we got all these niggas who aint never been in the field or lived a street life perpetuating that image. Its cause they know thats a sure fire way to get they career moving. Its a real problem

Why is this considered a comeback when her album was released in November?

Because she went on a 3-week "hiatus."

Doja Cat's worst song will be better than Megan's best song at this point. The song Doja just dropped is meant to just be a promo single but it's 100x better than Megan's "comeback" single. Visuals and everything.

Lol except megan actually knows how to “rap” not that cringe s*** doja cat be doing even though megan chasing these tiktok hoe bags she can still rap doja cat literally is on some kpop rap s*** please KEEP

I'm a woman, you don't need to say this to me. Megan IS one-dimensional. Doja Cat's last two singles/videos are sexual but they're also creative. She isn't twerking in all her songs/performances. She's rapping about s***probably just as much as Megan is but because she's being creative about it, it isn't as obvious. That's the kind of artistic sense that Megan severely lacks.

it doesn't have to be subtle, it's different artistic approaches - one dimensional or not its still things people can appreciate about it

shes crude, blunt and in your face

personally i think the intro where shes running over the guy is awesome

Her punchline rap isn't even funny and creative like Redman Ludacris Missy etc. She just isn't a funny creative chick she needs a ghostwriter. Imagine if she added fun/humor/lightheartedness to a song once, it would be so refreshing. She always sounds and looks dead serious, doesn't even move her face or crack a smile. Her music/rap persona is lowkey creepy for that lol

It's not just her image. There's nothing wrong with her image. Cardi raps about s***as much but Cardi has more creative visuals and that helps her songs a lot. Doja Cat also has the s***kitten image yet you don't see anyone saving she's doing the same thing over and over again. Megan just isn't creative.

Megan is not a great artist - sonically or otherwise and she's been getting exposed on that front for the last 2 years.

But once your career gets popping, won't you try something else or try to be more creative in what you're doing?

If you're creative in any way as an artist, it'll show early in your music. That's all I know. Megan doesn't have that.
