There is some music where you will never forget your first listen, story time!

One that sticks out in my head is the following

So me and my ex were arguing all night in the most toxic psycho way possible. Long story short it was very dramatic. Anyways, I woke up, and had to drive 1.5 hrs back home. At this point in time, we were very on & off and we basically just broke up again.

So i get in my car, and it is Friday morning. Drake just dropped HER LOSS. A perfect introduction to Drake's best album since More Life. It was amazing. I felt empowered as f***. It was truly HER LOSS.

What about y'all? Memorable first listens of songs/albums. Go!

    ARTPOP
first album I had on rotation for years man it was special it might just be nostalgia because I was 13 but at that time it was pop music and dance music perfected no one album around that time was topping it

    BLONDE
first serious relationship just ended and I was 16 I was very sad but this got me feel less crazy and it is just an amazing album

TLOP cause i was the only in my school that had it cause of that mess of a release

  • Won’t forget hearing Ultralight Beam for the first time. Was at my best friends house and we’re watching and listening with our headphones on at the same time and would look at each other and react whenever something cool happened lmao

When that enormous chilling choir came in and they pulled the cover from over the models and revealed the stage, I felt goosebumps everywhere bro. Like mannnn what an experience that was.

Nothing better than music that makes you feel things physically

  • Then that s*** just didn’t drop for like a month after hearing that masterpiece of a intro

  • man the first time i heard 7.62 god by pooh shiesty

    What happen?

  • MBDTF, stayed up "late" in elementary school and was blown away

Blonde, listening to it on the way back from the BDC magazine pop ups

NWTS walking home in the fall from school

Channel Orange downloading the leak before riding bikes to a friends

Making the sandwich to get the Faces download from Mac's website

    list goes on forever

  • Chubby Gambino

    What happen?

well the album was all previously released material.
The runaway movie, the good fridays, the leaks.
nothing new for the first listen for the hardcore ye fans

  • TPAB - Remember the album leaking, going home from school and downloading it immediately. Now I didn't have high hopes because to me, i was a disappointment. Put the album on, heard that static on Wesley's Theory, the sample came in and then that "Hit me!" followed by the drums Felt foolish for ever doubting Kendrick. Had to go to some extra classes after school, me and my homies were talking about the album. Didn't finish listening that night, played the rest of the album as I was getting ready for school. Mortal Man gave me goosebumps, like I actually had to stop getting dressed and sit down for a moment Kendrick was on top of the world after GKMC. For him to make an album inspired by my country and mention going to Robben Island, probably the same time he came over here and I saw him perform live a year prior, filled me with so much pride. Probably will always be my favorite album of all time because of that

The After Hours drop thread was crazy on here the night it came out

S even made the thread a live event for the site don’t think that’s happened for an album since
