    Hi-C

That’s the issue though. The people in charge don’t hold these niggas accountable. They are supposed to work FOR the people but working for the 1% isn’t working for the people. Giving corporations tax breaks and bailing them out isn’t working for the people. Holding them accountable is, and making sure you actually get the money from them is even more important.

Do you get the luxury to not pay taxes? F*** no. If you don’t, you’ll definitely get a call from the IRS. S*** gets deducted from your wages to begin with. Yet Amazon paid literally 0 dollars in taxes in 2018. That’s the biggest issue. People act like our government is incapable of public spending or that we should give corporations a break because “they provide jobs.” Yeah they provide jobs but not good ones most of the time.

I agree obviously, people be beefing with The Who niggas “cheat” instead of the government that let’s them cheat

    We basically agree ,nice convo

He’s right tho. Twitter doesn’t understand what net worth means and does a math calculation and thinks they’re woke.

Ppl really complaining about $25 mil, how much has their idol donated? How much has your fav rapper donated? Better yet, how much have they, the people complaining on Twitter, donated?

Again, equating a black person who grew up in the hood to a wealthy white dude who came from intergenerational wealth who exploits people to get to their position. Trash ass whataboutism that misses the point entirely

I’m not debating how he earned his money, in saying it’s his and he can do w/e tf he wants and we should stop b****ing about 25mil when most aren’t donating s***.

I grew up poor af, in refugee camps and welfare. I’ve donated 30-50 hours a week of my time working at the hospital since this pandemic started, usually working in the ICU or some research directly related to COVID. I’m not complaining that others should donate more or at all. Everyone donates what they can and want to.

25 million is a fantastic amount and is more than i or a lot of people will ever be able to contribute but the real problem here is that we're living in a society that can't help its own people and charity even exists. the wellbeing of others shouldn't be based upon if some rich guy decides he wants to donate money for a PR boost this week

First off, thank you for volunteering actually. That’s hella dope. I don’t think anyone is upset he is donating though and like the issue isn’t that he donated. You just can’t look at it in a vacuum. People donating any amount is always a sacrifice, but the sacrifice disproportionately affects the poor. The argument is that billionaires provide for us by giving us jobs and products and whatnot. Why shouldn’t they provide for us when we are in a global crisis that’s going to affect literally millions of people? Just cause he has money and it’s his doesn’t mean people shouldn’t call out the bullshit.

The argument about other idols is relatively weak when you consider how they made their millions versus how a billionaire makes their billions. If a millionaire donated $24 million, that’s a huge sacrifice. When a billionaire does it, it doesn’t mean s***.

Take Mike Bloomberg for example. Dude dropped half a billi just to run for a DNC nomination. How much has he done to help out this issue? Guarantee he hasn’t donated $500 million to help with the issue
