idk why y’all don’t block that clown. He listens to the bottom of the barrel and has horrible takes
Him and “Big Dog” gotta be bottom two users on the site
Facts… I can’t remember the last time he showed up for an award
Her Loss has no skips imo… Maybe that’s why it’s getting awarded
That metro tape had negative skips man
You a p**** just like metro thats why you in here going so hard for him. Throw stones hide your hands type of nigga
Only valid point you have here is them sampling a memphis rapper (Hours in Silence)
You can't use TI as an example of Memphis influence bruh
Saying it's "heavily influenced" by memphis when the influence isn't even that prominent on the album is kind of a stretch.
"Trap Muzik" by T.I. is as much a dirty south record as it is a trap record, and dirty south was invented by 8ball & MJG and UGK, who are from Tennessee and Texas respectively. By channeling a clear dirty south influence into Trap Muzik (it is a dirty south, and trap, record), the Memphis DNA is there both explicitly and implicitly
As a Memphis nigga, I heavily disagree lol. I’m trying to see how you came to that conclusion.
I mean the production style and techniques sound like a hybrid of Memphis Rap/Dirty South, and Trap. The drum patterns, sampling methods, etc, all blend both styles together pretty evidently across the album
I fw you heavy but come on now brodie lmao
Her Loss is good, but Heroes & Villains is better.
The production on Her Loss is slightly above average and 21 is mediocre on most of the album, Drake’s performances are what really makes that album standout.
Whereas the production on Heroes & Villains is stellar, all of the artist performances are really good to great, and it’s sequenced flawlessly
That metro tape had negative skips man
I really don’t get why the KTT2 consensus of Heroes & Villains seems to be that it’s a weak album. Everywhere else I see that album discussed it’s nothing but praise. I can’t get why this site overall seems to not like it

Well TIL that the dirty south = Memphis and only Memphis, and every song with a "dirty south" sounds is just getting influenced from memphis

Don't be obtuse man
Obviously Tennessee doesn't have a sole monopoly on the Dirty South sound. Texas has as much if not more influence on the style both in its origin and overall, as the "sound" of dirty south music can be traced back even to the Geto Boys in the late 80s. But if you are a dirty south artist, you can't deny the historical role Memphis has played in your sound whether consciously or implicitly lol.
If you're doing chanted choruses over 808 beats with arpeggiated hihats you got some of that from Memphis whether you realize it or not lol
H&V was cool, it was better than i expected going into it and had some songs i was playing for a while after the initial hype
but defo would put HL > H&V
30+ pages, i had to finally look up what metro said.
that lil ass tweet. lol
What was it?

Producers aren’t respected on here. Some dude yesterday was in here saying he doesn’t consider producer made albums as albums

Don't die on this hill bro, her loss had jumbotron, it was a return to form and 21 held his own as a featured artist

Jumbotron is great, but Heroes & Villains has Superhero, Trance, Creepin’, Too Many Nights, etc. All amazing songs.
Her Loss is cool but if we’re judging them as albums, Heroes & Villains is easily the better project.
Also, “21 held his own as a featured artist” is exactly what brings down Her Loss. It’s marketed as a collab album, but 21 sounds like a glorified feature on every damn song. He was mediocre at best on that album save for a few songs
Producers aren’t respected on here. Some dude yesterday was in here saying he doesn’t consider producer made albums as albums
I feel like subconsciously a lot of people on here dismiss producer albums because there isn’t a consistent artist’s voice throughout the project. Like I feel like if Drake was rapping on every beat on Heroes & Villains, people on here would undoubtedly think that was the better album
mods locked my thread when i wasn’t even hating on her loss!
Any type of criticism of Drake’s music is not allowed on this site
