It is about one man’s personal preferences which you seem to care way too much about

what’s so crazy is how hard they fought for atlanta and the south as a whole to be taken seriously no modern atlanta artists ever gave them the love they deserve

In my opinion Outkast is such an outlier in comparison to most of the traditional Atlanta sound especially in this age. I would hope that they’re well respected and assume they are, just probably doesn’t resonate with the younger gen as much as some of these other guys who were pioneers in their own right like Gucci and Jeezy

Their first album is closer to rappers delight than their last album is to now

Outkast, Geto Boyz & Hot Boyz are the reason why people outside the south started caring bout the south overall

atlanta sound changed so much from outkast/goodie mob to the trap sound in the 00’s that’s influenced basically everything we have now

I agree but that’s natural progression of music. If you asked any poppin rapper from NY right now I’d highly doubt they’d have Rakim or Big Daddy Kane in their top five too. I’m agreeing with your points those all of these guys are extremely important and deserve respect, but not going to hold anyone for not putting them in their personal lists

outkast made soulful music that is more in line with what houston and cali do which is why when outkasr and ugk or jay z got together it sounded so good. atlanta today is heavily influenced by jeezy, gucci, shawty redd, and zaytoven and then obviously weezy

Yea gucci and wayne pretty mych took over. Also the sound is much easier to produce so more ppl can afford it and its cooler to like imo. Seems like outkast is dusty to younger ppl who arent into more alternative music.
