Trance is honestly perfect as it is so I feel Metro on not adding Drake to the finished song. Niggas acting like Metro need a Drake verse at this point of his career is hilarious.

  • Jan 19, 2023

Respect Metro even more for sticking to his vision too instead of forcing Drake to fit on the song

It’s not. Only (the Drake section of) KTT believes it is

people i’ve talked to at my job have said it is, i’ve seen twitter folks say it’s a classic, people in college talk about it in high regards ( even heard them say it’s the last time drake hit his peak musically)

but you don’t have to believe me just know i’m comfortable in people in real life who was around at that time saying it’s a classic or peak drake

  • Jan 19, 2023

I still haven’t heard Drake version but I don’t usually care to listen to leaks anymore

People I’ve talked to at my job have said that album was very mediocre, I’ve seen Twitter folks call it overrated, and people at my college talk about it lowly (even heard them say it’s when Drake started to decline musically).

I’m not just sarcastically mirroring your post either, everything I said is true.

I have one close friend who considers it to be an actual classic. Everyone else I’ve talked to in real life about that album either just thinks it’s good or say it’s when Drake started to lose them

What really proves that CLB is Drake’s weakest studio album, more than anything else, is the fact that the biggest song on it is a Savage Mode II leftover

They gonna hate on you for speaking the truth 😭

I think Views is probably his most polarizing album, even in the fanbase.

I mean assuming you and your friends 23+ 2016 was a great year and having nostalgia to an album is the new definition of classic to people when it used to mean an album with very minimal to no skips that holds up years later lol

Once Drake gets fully into his mainly bragging about record sales and money and s*** bag (which IMO comes from the Meek victory) a lot of that music don’t have replay value like everything up thru IYRTITL

I think Views really could’ve been a classic if the tracklist was something like:

    1. Keep the Family Close
    2. 9
    3. U With Me?
    4. Feel No Ways
    5. Faithful
    6. With You
    7. Controlla
    8. One Dance
    9. Childs Play
    10. Too Good
    11. Summers Over Interlude
    12. Fire & Desire
    13. Can I?

All the mediocre rapping is what bogs that album down and makes it a chore to listen to. He should’ve committed harder to the seasonal theme he set out to do, and focused on making an R&B/dancehall fusion album.

He wanted that album to represent Toronto more than anything, and nothing would’ve represented the city more than the dark R&B sound he helped popularized as well as the island styles he was helping bring to the mainstream.

Like he’s admitted before, the Meek thing put him into ultra defensive mode and I think it severely changed the course of that album’s creation.

Also, closing the album with Can I would’ve been such a fitting way to end the album dedicated to his city.

Rapping on Views (for the most part) one of the main reasons I don’t enjoy that album.

I would add Redemption but mostly I agree.

Weston Road Flows and Views are good as well, at least sonically

I think it’s more of an iconic era for Drake rather than a classic album itself. Sorta like 2016 Kanye or 2021 Kanye

I honestly think More Life does a better job of accomplishing what Views set out to accomplish. I’ve always said More Life is a better version of Views

I disagree but I can respect that opinion fasure ... More Life was Views era Drake goes to London lol..... literally.

All those leaks were from OVO camp itself. They were more or less used as feelers.

Nah there was a big wetransfer leak so they ended up making dark lane in a week cause people kept asking for the leaks to be on streaming

    Not because of Views

Youre lying to yourself if you dont think that the music released that year had any part in people loving summer 16. Tlop and Views were essential parts
