I mean it’s common sense, and only fools argue against that. If you’ve listened to Weeknd and Drake at the time, he literally wouldn’t just take 5 songs from a 10-song set list, he had dozens of tracks floating around, all which could’ve been on HOB and be just as notable as shown by the success of his demos and EOS/Thursday/Trilogy bonus songs. Switch Crew Love for The Knowing and I wouldn’t be mad for example.

Also, like someone else mentioned earlier the “I gave Drake 5 songs” remark by Weeknd was meant to be a thanks rather than misconstrued as envy and jealously. People twisted his thanks into what this is today.

If you still think Trilogy is Abel’s best work in the year 2023, you don’t like music, you just like who you were at the time you discovered those mixtapes

If Rihanna, Drake, Taylor Swift or Bruno Mars did the same thing with their biggest hits, it'd very likely do more damage on the charts than Abel's greatest hits album so I don't know what you thought you were doing with this post lol.

It's not his best but it's his most talked about and his most impactful. Whenever people bring up his impact/influence on R&B/Pop music, they always defer to House of Balloons, not any of the work he's done after that and that's for a reason.

Nah the music was just o*****atic. Nothing he has done after has been as magical. Kiss Land comes close. So does MDM and maybe Dawn. Rest? Is great but not Trilogy level or close

It just sounds like an Abel track to me and then there’s the verse that’s more of an obvious drake verse. It seems like it could’ve come together almost like Crew Love but Drake sings The Weeknd part.

And it doesn’t matter at all or make drake any less for it, he still makes ideas better
