Have no idea what the prospects are looking like this year but I wouldn’t mind a good backup big to help bam out.

If they take a big, Vernon Carey Jr. may be a good pick. More of a traditional center but also shot 38% for three. Averaged 18 and 9 as a freshman at Duke. One of the mock drafts has the Heat picking him.

Haven’t watched him play. Just looked at some of his highlights after I saw the Heat were projected to draft him. He’s 6’10, 260. Averaged 1.6 bpg. Don’t know if he’d ever be an elite shot blocker, but he shouldn’t get moved around in the paint and can probably affect shots around the rim. Could probably get 1.5 bpg and add some needed size.
