close but not quite imo, still more a music historian take. id highlight the slight but intentional difference between the landing and of the kick and snare. accentuating the silence could be thought of as a arrangement thing, this is a rhythm thing.

yea most the metal drumming is cool a lot of common tricks. for more theory drumming s*** j dilla and dangelo are pretty common go to's. that and traditional music from around the globe.

and the chords were more dramatic

so yea thats what i heard in retrospect. the song i sent you was mostly microtonal i was curious if you would think it sounds out of tune or weird lol

I would only be able to recognize something thats very out of tune but with surf guitar effects I think the line gets kinda hazy
