During the summer of 1957, ex-racecar driver, Enzo Ferrari, is in crisis. Bankruptcy stalks the company he and his wife, Laura, built from nothing ten years earlier. Their tempestuous marriage struggles with the mourning for one son and the acknowledgement of another. Attempting to secure their survival he rolls the dice on one race – 1,000 miles across Italy, the iconic Mille Miglia.
Filming wrapped!
The film now has a home on Sky UK, and will be released later in 2023! U.S. Distribution still unconfirmed as of February 1st.
However, with “Ferrari,” with Driver and Mann involved, it appears that this film might actually get a theatrical release, possibly with Lionsgate. Unfortunately, all of that is still up in the air and nothing has been confirmed.
That said, it is heartening to know “Ferrari” is getting released in the UK this year, as it points to the strong possibility that a North American release will be announced at some point soon.
Now, Sky Cinema has opened up its wallet, and announced it’s purchased the UK rights to the movie.
It doesn’t have a firm release date as of yet, short of confirming that it’s a 2023 release. Assuming it follows the usual Sky Cinema model, it’ll get a brief big screen release before heading to Sky’s own channel.
“The whole movie is three months in the summer of 1957 in Enzo Ferrari’s life. It’s an opera, it’s melodramatic. Everything he’s been collides with what he might become. The company’s going bust. His wife finds out about the other woman. It’s spectacularly operatic melodrama in real life.”
We understand Amazon is tying up a deal to bolster international with STX and has been integral in the process. CAA Media Finance arranged the financing and is repping domestic.
The script is based on Brock Yates’ book Enzo Ferrari – The Man And The Machine.
Hopefully Ford vs Ferrari doesn't overshadow this
It probably will tbh knowing that plebs wouldn’t be able to handle Mann
They like their movies light on the eyes and dumbed tf down
ah yes something already better than ford vs ferrari
Bout time

considering that lamborghini started because the founder got blown off by ferrari would actually be kinda interesting
