I’m confused about what I missed between episode 1 & 2 of season 2

Was there a time jump? Jake’s eye is healed and Samantha isn’t mad at him anymore? She was pissed he came in to ask about her friend in episode 1 now he’s back asking for info about bike theft

It almost feels like episode 1 was more of a finale to the first season and episode 2 is the beginning of season 2

EDIT: ok yeah near the end of the episode they say it’s been 3 months since the events of the first episode

The relationship between Jake & the gangster boss’ wife is so ridiculous. There’s no chemistry there making it harder to buy into the risk she’s putting herself at by pursuing it

Sam and the architect + Sato and the call girl have more chemistry
