He doesn't have to apologize for having tourettes but its 100% human nature to apologize for unintentionally hurting someone regardless of the reason.

Ya'll make so many excuses for people its crazy, hes a very functioning human being who is very capable of apologizing to someone for the words said.

I never said he wasn't capable of an apology. I'm saying with a disability that would have to make him constantly apologize, where does it end? Where does our need for trying to understand his disability intersect with this percieved duty he has been bestowed for accomodating our feelings about how negatively it presents?

The reality is coprolalia is ugly and unpleasant, and he's going to constantly unintentionally hurt people until he ultimately dies. So is your solution to constantly apologize for his disorder, or just in this specific scenario?

No mention of the actors? The slur he dropped?

    Ending with promoting his movie?

THATS an apology??? or am i tripping?

Sounded like a public statement about Tourette’s rather than an apology to MBJ and delroy

  • Bro said his feelings are hurt that people think its intentional, which thats valid. But thats not an apology to MBJ or anyone that got offended...

it reads more annoyed he has to explain himself than anything not one single sorry or i apologize at all, quite literally falling in line with the "if you were offended" s***

And Im not even of the belief that he shouldn't be there or placed in a separate room like some think. I mean he was there to get an award right? So I wouldnt want his moment ruined either.

With that said, you have to compromise, and if that means giving a simple apology to the people you offended, that isn't asking for much. Thats literally the bare minimum.

Niggas don't even feel like he should say that's what's killing

Yeah it’s reported he shouted “fuck off”, “bullshit”, and “shut the f*** up” at Sara Nutt while she was presenting another award.

One of the Sinners producers, Hannah Beachler, said that he said the hard R three different times, including saying it to her face after the show (he left 25 minutes in).

That’s why I was curious about if he said other slurs or if he said it to non-Black attendees. I’m not sure how triggers work for coprolalia which is why I was trying to learn more about it.

it's only a tiny minority of Tourette ppl that scream slurs but yea it's based on being offensive and saying taboo things. slurs are treated differently than other words by your brain, that's why screaming curse words can ease the pain when you've hurt yourself

not really an apology as much as saying “please don’t take what i said as a reflection of me as a person”

it makes sense that he wouldn’t apologize for his disability

Its a case by case situation. I dont think yelling out "fuck you" and things like that warrant an apology. I believe when you affect an entire group of people with a word that holds way too much history...um yeah some apology should be given. But you also have to give a f*** to do so first

usually an apology has something like "i'm sorry" or "i apologize" or "i recognize the harm i did" or anything like that at all
