Smaller studios seemingly just have the goal of getting acquired, look at Platinum, they've been begging for it. Granted they're a company that seems to live on the brink of "we need a hit or we're going bankrupt" because they have terrible management.

I'm mainly worried how many series are going to be taken from ps as it's not a Microsoft product. I literally just don't understand how monopolies are illegal, yet are never enforced especially in the video game industry which is huge.

Yes, but who knows what these acquisitions will do to future selections. Like Bethesda and Activision alone are major markets for both consoles. We've already seen the effects of the Bethesda acquisition with starfield? (Not sure if that's the exact title), but that's just the beginning as it takes time for these things to take effect.
