I typed up a whole paragraph in response to this about how monopolies are bad, but I'm sure you've already heard anything I was going to say. I don't wanna argue on an internet forum today so let's just agree to disagree

This isn't really a monopoly though we have been over this multiple times. Microsoft would still be firmly in second place compared to Sony. There would still be plenty of available companies that make first person shooters nor would Microsoft be the only ones who own making first person competitive shooters or anything of the short. Other companies just don't really make them because call of duty itself came so continuously and high production value even if the game itself was disappointing.
Many of us are saying microsoft and sony need to be forced to make their own multiplayer shooters but don't really because part of how call of duty makes so much money too is all the various microtransactions. We haven't had a first person shooter in a while that drops then just drops map packs. There tends to be some level of in game currency

Maybe this move doesn’t make Microsoft a monopoly instantly, but I don’t see how it can be understood as anything other than anti-competitive. The whole 10-year agreement doesn’t really convince me of anything either, since that’s about the point where the next console generation will be picking up steam and removing one of the best selling games year in and out from your competitors will definitely have an impact on PlayStation sales
I dislike the direction shooters have taken towards GaaS too, not sure what that has to do with the acquisition though

Again if the Call of duty games come to gamepass, they have offered to have gamepass on other consoles. The games would 100% still come to pc. They would come to nintendo and sony for 10 years. We really got to this point partially because of Sony paying so often for timed exclusivity, getting dlc a full year early or exclusive game modes to the point where they became the place to play. It will have an impact on playstation sales yes but if you look how much playstation is leading by, the other reasons people buy a playstation and their revenue it isn't that crazy.

It has to do with basically every first person shooter is trying to be cod, see cods success or at least follow their general model. Sell with a season pass . Do seasons. Map packs. Skins and customizations sell options. It has to do with the acquisition because its the reason COD is so popular in the first place. Yes sometimes dropping yearly but people know that others will be online on a COD game for years, they will get support, map packs, skins, servers stay online for years even as new ones release.
lol Sony don't want to add it to plus and save gamers money thats the last thing they want to do
lmao this deal need to happen already but jim ryan might be a genius if microsoft start offering some crazy s*** to get that deal pushed through

1 thing I can assure you from all this is that Jim Ryan is not a genius
dudes still talking about monopoly when even after this goes through microsoft would have less than 10% of the gaming industry
bozos I swear
The activist on deal is dead. Thank you UK
Source that it’s dead?
I only see them saying “it could harm gamers”
