before you all say frank ocean and the weeknd i love those dudes but they haven’t made r&b in a while. frank ocean music is more art pop now it sound more like black metal than say channel orange. weeknd makes more pop type s*** than r&b now but i love how both of those dudes evolved so don’t kill me for not saying one of them two.

anyways...miguel is a really skilled producer for example he produced this song by himself and it’s a classic

also he’s able to mix so many genres into his music and make it his own...

love how he could go from electronic to funk to rock type s*** on his albums

i think pnd is better

pnd was on track for me but i’ve hated basically 99% of what he’s done since pnd2

In terms of vocals, album quality, balancing acclaim with commercial success and hit making ability for himself and others it shouldn’t be a debate that Miguel is the king lol.

this has nothing to do with anything but i always felt like miguel fans couldnt dress for s***. the music is pretty good probably a really sweet guy just something doesnt quite click for me. sort've in that wale/j cole dynamic there's nothing intrinsically wrong with the music just doesnt move me in any way like those other guys do
