The difference is portraying a black person vs making an art.
Tyler has always been pretentious with what’s “real music” and not and looked down on that sub genre in certain ways.
Ian is not in blackface. He’s making hip hop music. Dude is so young too (I have no idea how old, just based on looks). Does he sound like the stereotypical trap rapper cadence? Yes. Do I think he’s mocking it? No honestly. I chalk it up to him being inspired by the music that likely raised him, similar to how Tyler was so inspired by P
